So, I bought a house. It’s old, it’s awesome, and it’s one hell of a project.
The Good
- the neighborhood – less than two blocks from a farmers market, restaurants, bars, shops etc
- original doors and windows – wavy glass and crystal doorknobs
- big backyard
- perfect sized house with an addition that can be remodeled later
- town has grant money available for certain types of renovations
The Bad
- where the hell are the hardwood floors? mostly not here anymore
- house is completely lacking in insulation
- no central heat or air in the back addition
- kitchen and bathrooms need to be gutted
The Ghetto
- there are at least five different kinds of siding on one exterior wall
- dishwasher is jacked up on a block
- the spotlight over the fireplace contains a red lightbulb
Stay tuned for the adventures!
