I have been a list maker since I was a kid. This probably comes from the fact that my attention span is so short I would never remember all the things that I need to get done if I didn’t have a list. I also tend to have multiple things going at the same time, so lists help keep it all straight. I love to write things down and check them off. In high school I created my first version of my “bucket list”.

I realize that some people think that it is crazy to write this stuff down. Especially some of the silly stupid stuff. It’s not rocket science, and if I want to read 50 books I should just shut up and go do it, right? My list should also probably be full of much more noble things than going skydiving. I try to keep my list a balance of things that are fun, necessary, educational, philanthropic and physical – just like I want my life to be. It’s easy to say that you will do all of this stuff “someday”, but sometimes day to day life takes over and you realize that it has been months since you really did anything wasn’t part of your day to day routine. I really find that for me, writing it down and putting it out there goes a very long way towards actually getting some of this stuff done.
